Sissy was such an inspiration to me both as a Christian and as a teacher. She and Cam were truly my mentors at Morton Memorial when I was a young teenager. Their support truly helped me pursue my dreams to go to college and succeed in life. Her soft Virginian accent was a true symbol of the soft heart she had for others. May you find comfort in the great memories she created in your lives, and may God surround you with same love Sissy which always surrounded Sissy.

Dear Cam and Family: Although Charlotte and I only had the priviledge of meeting and sharing time together with you and Sissy a few times, we know from the way you treated us, guided us and befriended us, that you both are very special people. Because of you both, we decided to buy land and someday move to Clifftops. Please know that you are in our prayers and will stay there. You and your family have our deepest sympathy!

Sissy was the first person to welcome mre to Morton Memorial,She was the most gracious southern Christian lady I have ever met. She forever.called, sent cards, and always treated me like I was the only person in the room, and she somehow made each person feel so special, while ignoring no ne else. Sissy, I am going to miss you so much,You always has a kind word for everyone, ans was always concerned about getting home to check on he Cam. The love in her eyes when she spoke of him,was as fresh as 67 years ago.Cam, you have had to be the strong knowital, with a commendable Air Force Career.I am so proud of the family you were priviledged to share.Sissy,I waill miss you, but I know you are singing with the angels, praising our Heavenly Father.God bless you my friend,

We were able to visit with Sissy on Tuesday afternoon before her passing. Ever the lady she asked for an ink pen so that she could begin writing thank you notes for the beautiful flowers and visits she had. She was bright, alert and as always, charming. To the Stewart family please know that she was a star God shared with us and we are the better for knowing her. We share in your grief but she is in heaven showing the angels just how it is done - southern style. God bless.

As the hospital chaplain at EH I visited Sissy in the hospital in June. She was a ray of light, and I am very grateful that God placed her in my life that one day. We laughed, talked, and prayed together, and she gave me a delicious home-made muffin in gratitude. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends. May she forever rest in peace in the arms of Jesus.

There will only be one Sissy in my lifetime. Her beautiful speaking voice I could listen to forever. Her gentle and kind ways, her beautiful smile, her timeless style always ladylike and uniquely hers. I will treasure my memories of her as a woman I admired greatly and as a person who loved God, her family, her church, her friends, her community and life in general. Sissy Stewart, you will be missed and remembered often. Thank you for being you and giving us the great privilege of knowing and loving you. God Speed.

Sissy took us under her wing when we moved to Monteagle 4 1/2 years ago and she's been an inspiration since. She introduced me to all the activities in which she participated. She talked politics and religion to me which was a joy. But even more, she was a friend who didn't judge, but listened and advised. We will miss her and will think of her often. Here's to grace, strong character, and just a lovely person.
