Obituary of George LeRoy Miller

George LeRoy Miller, age 76, of Tracy City, Tennessee, passed away January 2, 2023. He was born in Glendale, California to the late Clyde LeRoy Miller and Enid Dawn Jones Miller on August 31, 1946. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his step son, Phillip Don Moder. George was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He earned his Eagle Scout badge and over the years he was a Scout Master, a Kiwanis Club President, a member of Toast Masters, and was in the Coast Guard Auxiliary. He was also a member of the Sons of the Confederate - Camp 386. He enjoyed camping, target practice, boating, sailing, dancing, surfing, snorkeling, and cooking. He also enjoyed making model airplanes and flying rockets. His interests included chemistry, emergency preparedness, herbs, and genealogy. He was very “service” oriented and was always helping others. He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Ginger Lynn Miller; sons, Chad Earl (Luanne) Miller and Corey Mitchell (Caroline) Miller; daughters, Mindy Ginger Miller, Aurissa April (Brian) Parsons, and Shasta Marriott (Steve) VanBuren; nine grandchildren and six step-grandchildren; four step-great grandchildren; brother, Grant Price (Becky) Miller; and sister, Linnette Dawn (Jeff) Petersen. The Funeral Service will be Saturday, January 21, 2023, at Cumberland Funeral Home – Foster and Lay Chapel in Tracy City, Tennessee at 2:00 PM with Jeff Petersen officiating. Burial will follow at Plainview Cemetery. A visitation with the family will begin at 11:00 AM until time of service.
