Raymond was a gift from God that my family and I enjoyed for nearly 40 years. I was looking for some help with an old log cabin we bought. It needed a new roof badly and Raymond just showed up and gave us a bid. I went to Greeter’s and asked if they knew Raymond and they did. I asked if he was a good roofer and they responded “he’s not a roofer.”Things were tight and his bid was well under the other bids I got. We decided to take a chance on Raymond. He did a great job and it never leaked. In fact he put two roofs on that cabin and we never had an issue. We soon found out that Raymond could do almost anything and he did that happily and joyfully for those many years. Raymond was honest to a fault, could always be counted on whenever needed, and quickly became a beloved member of the family! I guess I spent more time with Raymond than I did with almost anyone on the mountain. I loved hearing the distinctive rumble of his truck and after our projects were done we’d visit and laugh about everything. We agreed that whoever got to Heaven first would save the other a seat. I thought I’d be first but I know he will keep his promise. We all loved Raymond and we will miss our dear friend greatly!
