Obituary of David Owens

Louis David Owens, age 73, of South Pittsburg, Tennessee, passed away Thursday, October 21, 2021. He was born July 31, 1948, to the late William Robert and Tressie Leona Owens. In addition to his parents, David is preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Owens. David loved to fish and was big into guns and hunting and was a member of the NRA. His favorite pastime was watching westerns. He loved cars of any kind, old tractors and would watch shows about them anytime he could. He served in the U.S. Selective Service for 20+ years, was a Vietnam Veteran, was a member of the American Legion, and a life member of both the Bledsoe Chapter of the DAV and the Sons of the American Revolution. He is survived by his wife, Elsie Owens; daughter, Kathy (Mark) Lynch; son, Michael Owens; brothers, Kenneth (Cricket) Owens and Donald (Sandy) Owens; sisters Linda (David) Mitchell and Brenda (Sammy) Lee; and many nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be Saturday, October 30, 2021, at Cumberland Funeral Home - Foster and Lay Chapel in Tracy City at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at Plainview Cemetery. A visitation with the family will be held at Cumberland Funeral Home on Friday, October 29, 2021, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
