Few knew how Dave was an expert curer and cooker of meats until you occasioned a holiday spread Dave lavishly entailed be it Christmas, Independence Day, Thanksgiving or a family birthday! Venison, wild turkey or ham, few could smoke meat like Dave outside my wife Dell. The smokers would be fired up and ready to go when Dave was around! Nobody knew how to smoke his meat like Dave! And his jerky was to die for! You will be missed, Dave! Friend to many, forgotten by few! Missed by all! Rest in peace old friend your heavenly reward is near! God bless all who ever knew you! Gone but not forgotten to that big cooker in the sky! Come weary traveler your reward is earned! God bless you and your family at this most difficult time! Dell and Dale Decherd Tenn.

I met David & Elsie through the Grundy County Historical Society several years ago. They are delightful people with a genuine interest in history. They are supportive, interested, and just good people. David will be missed. My condolences to Elsie and others in the family. Janelle Taylor
