Jon and I worked together at Monteagle Silo company from 1994 to 1998. During that time we traveled thousands of miles together and worked thousands of hours side by side. I f you have never worked at the silo company it's almost impossible to explain how physically and mentally demanding that work is. I was there for 14 years and during that time I went through more helpers than I could ever count. Then came Jon and he was there to stay. We worked in some of the most miserable conditions you could imagine. averaging between 80 and 90 hours a week during the summer months. Many times we would start at daylight and still be at it come the next morning. Sometimes having to drive hundreds of miles from one job to another one of us would sleep against the passenger side door while the other one drove. Even under these stressful conditions other than my usual rumbling, we never had a cross word. You only had to show Jon something one time after that he was good to go. After working with Jon those four years I think I can honestly say I knew him as well as anyone, with the exception of his family, could have. Jon Mansfield was one of the finest men I ever had the pleasure of working with...... Thanks for all the fond memories Jon.....until we meet again.....your friend.....D. Heath Stevens
