Columbus (James) Green, age 76, passed away on April 8, 2020 at his home in Sewanee, Tennessee. He was born in Sewanee, Tennessee on May 3, 1943.
He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Columbus and Sallie Green and two sisters Martha Gilliam, and Sarah McGregor.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years Janice (Johnson) Green of Sewanee, Tennessee. Daughters’ Sallie Green and Tim Jacobs of Sewanee. Shellie Green and Scott Coker of Sewanee. Sarah and Jeff Gore of Sherwood. Savannah Green and Michael Ryan of Cowan. Son: Devoted little companion CJ, a Rat Terrior.
Granchildren: Kobe and Kylie Coker of Sewanee. Andrew and Maddie Gore of Sherwood, Adley Ryan of Cowan, Special Grandchild Layton Coffelt of Sherwood.
Brothers: Herman Green of Sewanee, John Green of Sewanee, Joe Green of Sewanee.
Sisters: Mary Green of Sewanee, Barbara Byers of Pelham, Susie Kilgore of Monteagle, Kathy Owensby of Sewanee.
Many nieces and nephews.
James was a great husband, daddy, grandad and friend of so many. James was a hard-working man that helped so many. He served our country for many years. He served in Vietnam, Desert Storm and Iraqi Freedom and was a retired member of Tennessee Army National Guard of Tullahoma. He also worked for CSX railroad from 1981-2008.
