I am so sorry for the loss of your precious father and husband. Big David and I always thought a lot of him but now he is in the presence of our heavenly father along with Big David and others that we knew that KNEW the Lord like Mr. John. Knowing that David was ready to meet the Lord has been a comfort for me and I know that it will comfort ya'll too. That fact does not mean that we will not miss our loved ones but it does help. Mr. John has done a lot for our county and everyone who knew him, I am sure, appreciates it.
I'll be praying for ya'll in the coming days
In Christ's Love and Peace,
Ellen Campbell

I got to know Mr. Myers in the mid 80’s when I worked for Street’s Auto Parts. He came into the parts place , we called it, one Saturday morning to get a part for his tractor, when he left James said, that’s Duck Myers, he is a friend of mine who was involved in the war. My dad was in World War Two, I was taught to respect veterans and revered them as Real Heroes. As the years went by I was afforded the opportunity to know him better and he would come by my little shop and we would talk, I would get him some part or we would discuss how something works or a proper adjustment one of his machines. This generation will be remembered for their honesty, humility, integrity. Mr. John has been a great friend, and my life has been enriched by his influence on me. I Will see you again my dear friend, on the other side.

John has served his community well. I had the privilege of serving with him on the board at the Grundy County Food Bank, the board of Hillcrest Village and the board of the Ladies Memorial Association where he served as Trustee and was a wealth of knowledge. He will be deeply missed.
