Obituary of Roy Mayes

Mr. Roy Wince Mayes, 83, a former resident of Tracy City, Tennessee, passed away Monday, September 12, 2011 in Florida, after a short illness. He was born in Pelham, Tennessee, a son of the late Roy C. and Viola Patrick Mayes and was preceded in death by a son, Bob Forman and a brother, Fritz Mayes. He retired from the Fisher body Division of General Motors Corp as General Foreman and Assistant Plant Superintendent. He was Mayor in the Highland Heights, Ohio. Survivors include his wife, Joan Mayes; children, Teresa Mingle, LaDora Rose, Karen Kroning, Ken Forman and Marie Kunzman; sister Mary Ruth Rogers, brothers Wayne, Glen and Byron D Mayes; 13 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Plainview Cemetery Association, 56 Paulk Road, Tracy City, TN 37387 Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday in the funeral home chapel. Speakers will be Don Haynes, Jimmy Stockwell and Karen Kroning . Son-in-laws and grandsons will serve as pallbearers.The family will receive friends 5-8 P.M.
