Mr. Henry Benton Meeks
Funeral services for Mr. Henry Benton Meeks, age 87 of Joelton, TN, will be held on Saturday, September 1, 2018, at 2 PM at Cumberland Funeral Home in Monteagle with Bro. Bobby Winton officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery in Pelham. Visitation with the family will be held on Friday, August 31st from 5 – 8 PM at the funeral home. Mr. Meeks passed away on August 28th at his home.
Mr. Meeks was born on November 16, 1930, in Pelham, TN to the late William Frances Meeks and Bettie Isabel Sartain Meeks. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean conflict from April 1951 until March 1953. He worked at AVCO Manufacturing where he retired as a tool and die inspector in 1987. In addition to his parents, Mr. Meeks is preceded in death by sixteen brothers and sisters. He is survived by his children, Boyd Keith (Brenda) VanHooser, Micheal Benton (Janie) Meeks, Billy H. (Lisa) Meeks, Mickey Virgil Meeks; 9 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
