Mrs. Martha Jean Gilliam age 79 of Cowan, Tennessee passed away Saturday, August 27, 2011, at her home. She was born in Sewanee,a daughter of the late Columbus Green and Sally Jacobs Green and was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Eugene Gilliam.
Mrs. Gilliam was a member of the Church of Christ and had retired from the University Laundry.
Survivors include her son, Billy Gilliam, Winchester; grandsons, Chad and Cory Gilliam; great-grandchildren, Cameron, Layla and Casen; brothers and sisters, Herman Green, Sarah McGregor, Mary Green, John T. Green, Barbara Byers, James Green, Joe Green, Susie Kilgore and Katherine Ownby; special niece, Ann Sherrill.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with Minister Ray Winton officiating. Burial will be in Eastern Star Cemetery in Sewanee. The family will receive friends 5-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Online condolences and register book @ www.cumberlandfuneralhome.net
