Obituary of Gloria Willene Green

Gloria “Willene” Green, age 72, passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2018 at Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga, Tennessee, she was also born at Erlanger Hospital on August 8, 1945 to John Clinton and Annie Esther Short Collins. Willene is proceeded in death by her parents, and brothers; James Collins and John Collins.

 

Willene was employed at St Mary’s Retreat Center in Sewanee, Tennessee for the most part of her early working years. She later worked and retired from Haven of Rest Retirement and Assistant Living Facility in Tracy City Tennessee.  

 

She is survived by sisters, Brenda “Sue” (Ernest) Frederick of Tracy City, TN and Mary “Willow” (Pat) Anderson of Raymond, WA and her children Mary Ann Cannon (Jim Smith) of Estill Springs, TN, Chris Anderson of Tracy City, TN and Dennis Anderson of Gruetli-Laager, TN. Her grandchildren Brittany Cannon (Mason Eley), Dalton “Gage" Cannon (Leah Smith), Riley Cannon, Amanda (Kevin) Murphy, Dewayne “D.D” Anderson, Patrick Anderson, Marissa Anderson, Haley Anderson, and Brandi Colby Scissom. Her great grandchildren Noah Cannon, Serenity Eley, Caden Eley, Dylan, Emily, Noah Murphy, and Jessie. Along with several nieces and nephews.

 

Willene was a unique, loving, strong willed, and devoted mother, grandmother, GG “great grandmother,” sister, and person all together. Her love for family, life and horses was unlike any other, a free spirit with an old soul. She was the best biscuit, chocolate gravy maker via her grandchildren. She also loved her Gameboy and house shoes just as much. Her time here on Earth seemed so short, but she will forever live on in our hearts and minds.

A passage for you, “Enjoy the little things in life, for one day you’ll look back and realize they were the big things.”

 

A Graveside Service will be held Wednesday February 28, 2018 at 4:00 PM at Coalmont Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday February 28, 2018 from 12:00 – 3:30 PM at Cumberland Funeral Home, Tracy City, Tennessee.
