Obituary of Jimmy Ray Johnson

Coalmont – Mr. Jimmy Ray Johnson, 76, passed away unexpectedly Monday February 5, 2018 at the STRHS-Sewanee Emergency Room. He was born near Tracy City, Tennessee on September 21, 1941 to Pascal Johnson and Edna Nolan Johnson who preceded him in death along with his sisters, Eva Cope and Frankie Dodson; brothers, Isaac and Homer Johnson; grandsons, Garrik Thomas and Deacon Hart; great grandson, Rayden Borne.

He was a retired coalminer and a member of the Bethel Incline Church in Whitwell, Tennessee. He was a US Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Tate Johnson; son, Craig Allen Johnson; daughter, Sabrina (Kevin) Geary; brother, David (Edwene) Johnson; sister, Mary (Terry) Flood; grandchildren, Christian, Kyra and Cannan; 5 great grandsons; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Thursday at the Plainview Community Church with Ministers, Mike Rigsby and Danny Chance officiating with burial to follow in the Coalmont Cemetery with Military Honors. Visitation: 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM Wednesday at Cumberland Funeral Home, Tracy City, Tennessee and 11:00 AM until time of service Thursday at the Church. www.cumberlandfuneralhome.net
