Obituary of Alice Ladean Meeks

Tracy City- Alice Ladean Meeks, 77, died Friday morning in her home in Tracy City, Tennessee with her family at her side. Loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Cherished by her family and friends. Though her children (as well as their own) grew and their toys aged, she was always thought of as their greatest source of enjoyment. She was an inspirational person who always had a smile on her face no matter the difficult times to be endured.

Survived by three children in Tracy City, Darlene Meeks, Donna (Tommy) Cunningham, Danny (Michael) Meeks, daughter Diane (Bodie) Bess of Altamont, Tennessee, and son Wayne Meeks of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Also survived by 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Proceeded in death by her father and mother, Jack and Cleo meeks, infant son, Ricky Meeks; brothers Jeff, Dave and Jack Jr., sisters: Elsie Meeks, Edna Nunley, Eleanor Wimpy, Myrtis Adams, Naomie Campbell, Margaret Meeks, and Dorothy Meeks, grandsons; David and Brian Bess, and great grandson Jacob Meeks.

Services will be held Monday January 29, 2018 at 2:00 PM in the Foster and Lay Chapel, with Bro. Mike Rigsby and Bro. Claude Hoback officiating burial will follow at Plainview Cemetery. Visitation with friends will be from 1:00-10:00 PM Sunday. Funeral arrangements by Cumberland Funeral Home, Tracy City, Tennessee.
