Obituary of Alma Lorene King

Whitwell – Mrs. Alma Lorene King, 79, passed away Saturday January 13, 2018 at the NHC Nursing Home in Dunlap, Tennessee. She was born in Palmer, Tennessee on September 1, 1938 to James Leonard and Lillie Mae Layne Lockhart who preceded her in death along with her husband, Billy H. King, Sr.; brother, James Lockhart; sisters, Shirley Meeks and Myrtle Fay Lockhart.

She had lived in Tracy City and several other locations and was a certified chef.  Her last employment was with the Marion County Sheriffs Department.

She is survived by her sons, Bennie Lockhart, Rossville, GA and Billy H. King Jr., Mary-Esther, FL; brothers, Joel Lockhart, Chattanooga, Larry Lockhart, Whitwell; sisters, Opal Jackson and Wanda Paulette Boggs both of Jasper, Tennessee; 11 grandchildren; 21, great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Thursday in the Foster and Lay chapel with Minister Ernest Lockhart officiating with burial to follow in the Orange Hill Cemetery. Visitation: 3:00 PM – 8:00 PM Wednesday at Cumberland Funeral Home, Tracy City, Tennessee. cumberlandfuneralhome.net
