Obituary of Helen Beryl Roddy

Helen Beryl Roddy passed away on December 13, 2017 at her home in Newnan, GA. She was 89 years old. She had lived her life in Tracy City up until several years ago when she moved to Georgia.
Ms. Roddy attended Shook School in Tracy City as a child and graduated from Central High School in Chattanooga. She was a member of the school band at Central High where she played the tenor saxophone. In her later teenage years, she was second runner up in the Miss Chattanooga pageant.
She was a Past Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star,O. E. S., Chapter 266.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Maude and Burge S. Roddy, Sr., a sister, Alma Irene Roddy Harper and a brother, Burge “Buddy” S. Roddy, Jr.
Survivors include Helen “Tookey” Harper, niece; Wendee Loveless Miller, great-niece and Tommy Miller, husband; Christopher Loveless, great-nephew; Morgan Miller and Skylar Loveless, great-great-nieces. Maude Roddy Melton, sister.
She was a member of Faith Creek Methodist Church in Newnan, GA.
A Graveside service will be held Thursday December 21, 2017 at 2:00 PM at City Cemetery in Tracy City, Tennessee. There will be no visitation. Arrangements have been made by Cumberland Funeral Home, Tracy City, Tennessee. Online condolences can be made at www.cumberlandfuneralhome.net
