Gladys Watson Seagroves, age 85 of Tracy City, was called to her Heavenly home on Wednesday, December 06, 2017. She was born September 2, 1932 in Harlan County, Kentucky to Lacy Samuel and Ethel Watson. She and her family moved to Tennessee in 1941. At the age of 18, she went to work in Cleveland, Ohio where she resided for one year before returning to Tennessee. In 1952, she married Cecil Seagroves. The two of them went on to have and raise six children, Brenda, Rickey, Randy, Roxanna, Roger and Tammy.

Starting in the early 1970's, she began working for Colonial Manufacturing in Tracy City. She remained there until 1993, at which time she began keeping her grandchildren, which was her greatest joy. She enjoyed reading, cooking and caring for her family and was always a true friend.

She had said “God called two of our girls home so they are waiting for me along with their daddy.” Mrs. Seagroves is preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Seagroves; daughters, Brenda Coppinger and Tammy Seagroves; grandson, Justin Meeks.

Survivors include her children, Rickey, Randy and Roger (Wendy) Seagroves; daughter, Roxanna (Troy) Fults; son-in-law, Waymon Coppinger all of Tracy City; several loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday in the funeral home chapel with Brother Claude Hoback and Brother Mike Rigsby officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday 5-9 P.M. At the funeral home. On line condolences may be made at: www.cumberlandfuneralhome.net.
