Obituary of Jimmy Don Lewis

Monteagle – Mr. Jimmy Don Lewis, 77, passed away Tuesday July 11, 2017 at the STRHS-Winchester Hospital.  He was born in Rutherford County, Tennessee on April 28, 1940 to Hobart and Willie Green Lewis who preceded him in death.

He was a 34 year veteran of the Army National Guard and was a member of the Monteagle Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Jim had been a Sheriffs Deputy for 10 years with the Grundy County Sheriffs department and also worked at Western Electric. He loved horses and working in his yard.

He is survived by his wife, JoAnne Lewis; sons, Jon Lewis; daughter, Lori West; step-son, Rocky Hobbs; grandchildren, Jordan Hope Lewis, Shelby Faith Lewis, Tanner Reid West and Robyn; great grandchildren, Ashton and Nash Newsome; nephews, Steven and Scott Messick.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday in the funeral home chapel with Minister Clayton Jones officiating with burial to follow in the Summerfield Cemetery. Visitation: 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM Friday at Cumberland Funeral Home, Monteagle, Tennessee. www.cumberlandfuneralhome.net
