Sara Elizabeth Parson Cope, born January 24, 1931 in Sewanee, Tennessee, passed peacefully Monday, April 3, 2017 in Erlanger Medical Center. She is preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie Carel Cope; son, Charles Cope; daughters, Charlotte Powers and Carolyn Nunley; parents, John Calvin and Katie Parson; brothers, Paulie, George and Sug Parson; grandson, Charles Tant.
Survivors include her son, Chuck Cope; daughters, Connie Reavis, Celena (Mark) Green; brother, Robert Parson; sisters, Annie Green, Katherine Hill and Judy Moore; son-in-law, Jerry Nunley, Sr., 14 Grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 1 great great grandson; many nieces and nephews; and special dog “Sugar” her baby.
Funeral services will be 5:00 P.M. Wednesday in the Cumberland Funeral Home Chapel, with Brother Freddie Harris and Brother Tim Campbell officiating, burial will be in the Harrison cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday at the funeral home from 5-9 P.M.
