Obituary of Joseph Wayne Smith

Mr. Joseph Wayne “Joe” Smith age 75 of Tracy City went to be with the Lord Friday, March 31, 2017, at his home with his wife at his side. He was born in Lincoln County, Tennessee on April 20, 1941 to Herman and Betty Smith who preceded him in death along with his brother, Fred and two infant sisters. He was of the Baptist faith, was a retired mechanic and owned and was operator of Smith’s Wrecker Service and he was also a farmer. Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Lucy Hobbs Smith; children, Karen Smith, Fran (Joe) Lundberg, Judy (David) King, Susie Smith, Sara Yarworth; Chris Hobbs and Joe Smith; sisters, Betty (Wayne) Yates and Shirley Cullins; grandchildren, Dustin (Erica) Smith, Trey VanHooser, Casey (Aaron) Crawford, Lauren Held, Alex Held, Kathlyn VanHooser, Sydney VanHooser, Abby King, Mikaela Trussell and Elle Yarworth; 3 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday in the funeral home chapel with Brother Johnie Hobbs officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery.
