Coalmont - Mrs. Mary Magdalene "Duck" Nunley, 102, passed away Friday March 3, 2017, at the STRHS- Sewanee Hospital. She was born in Tracy City, Tennessee on April 22, 1914, to Morgan and Beulah Carrick Johnson who preceded her in death along with her husband, James H. Nunley; sons, Clarence, Max and George Ladue Nunley; daughters, Janie Smartt and Elaine Shadrick; sisters, Betty Sue Johnson and Ruby G. Curtis; brothers, Elbert, Loys, Bill, Barney, Jack and Wesley Johnson; granddaughter, Penelope Liz Nunley; grandsons, Donnie, Michael "Mody" Nunley, Jeff Seagroves, and Allan Lawson; step-children, Bill Nunley, Charles Nunley, and Gladys McGee. She is survived by her son, Joe (Ann) Nunley; daughters, Jean Nunley, Lois Seagroves, Donna (Bernard) Knost, Ruth (Bill) Braden, Pamela Nunley (Craig Morris), and Paula "Kate" (Barry) Braden; sister, Josephine Caldwell; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was a member of the Chestnut Springs Congregational Methodist Church and the Orange Hill Memorial Association. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Monday in the funeral home chapel with Ministers Freddie Savage and James Caldwell officiating with burial to follow in the Orange Hill Cemetery.
