Obituary of Daisy Bennett

Mrs. Daisy Katherine Bennett age 72 of the Jump Off community near Sewanee passed away Saturday, February 18, 2017 at St. Thomas West in Nashville. She was born February 19, 1944, a daughter of the late Hudson Melroy Flippen and Ruby Lillian Newcomb Flippen and was preceded in death by her son, John P. Bennett, Jr.; brothers, Robert L., H. Clifford and Mark Flippen; sister, Faye. Mrs. Bennett was a member of Hope Baptist Church in Cowan. She loved her Lord, her family and children were her ministry. Survivors include her husband, John P. Bennett, Sr.; children, Linda A. Bennett, Charlotte A. Garner, Ruby B. Dill and Clara B. Bowles; brothers, Earl Jackson Flippen, Kenneth W. Flippen and Charles Neal "Sam" Flippen; sister, Melta Young; grandchildren, Dusty Reed, John David Larson, Kristi Hirlston, Jessica Palmer, Stephen Dill, Jasmin Sullivan, Jack Dill, DJ Garner and Travis Garner, 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with Brother Bill Owens officiating. Burial will be in Monteagle Cemetery. John David Larson, Stephen Dill, Jack Dill, Daniel Garner, Travis Garner and Charles Bennett will serve as pallbearers.
