Obituary of Michael Scott

On January 7, 2017, Michael "Mike" Hughes Scott, Sr. lost his long, hard battle with cancer but won the war with eternal life. Mike was a hard-working, generous, humble and kind-hearted man. He was a member of Simchat Torah Bible study group and a member of Monteagle Volunteer Fire Dept. Mike is preceded in death by his father, George Hughes Scott. Mike is survived by his wife, Gina Scott of Monteagle, TN and his children, Hollice "Holly" Jackson of Sequatchie, TN, Michael (Kelly) Scott of Bryant, AL, Joshua (Brooke) Scott of Sequatchie, TN and stepdaughter, Julie Phillips of Monteagle, TN. Mike is survived by eight grandchildren, Austin and Houston Jackson, Silsbee and Quinlan Arueyingho, Morgan and Tyler Scott and Jagger and Joplyn Scott. Mike is also survived by his mother, Lorene Smith and stepfather, Andy Smith of Bryant, AL. Mike is survived by three sisters, Deb (Roger) McCarty of Bryant, AL, Phyllis Thomas of New Hope, TN and Alisha (Randy) Cook of Bryant, AL. Mike was blessed with many loving neices and nephews Graveside Service on January 8, 2017, at 12pm cst at New Hope Cemetery in New Hope, TN. Celebration of Life Service on January 14, 2017 at 1pm cst at Foster Falls Community Center at Jasper Mountain, TN.
