Mr. Carlton Thomas age 94 of Monteagle passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2016, at his home. He was born in Monteagle, a son of the late Charlie and Nettie Holder Thomas and he was preceded in death by his children, J.C. Thomas, Terry Thomas and 3 infant children; brothers, Robert and David Thomas; sister Charlene Lowrie. Carlton was a master carpenter, he had built many homes and commercial buildings in Monteagle. He was a WW II, U.S. Army veteran and was captured and held as a POW near the end of the war. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and farmer. Survivors include his wife, June Thomas; son, Charles E. Thomas; 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Danny Coffelt and Brother Bob Lowrie officiating. Burial will be in Monteagle Cemetery with full military honors provided by the Sequatchie Valley Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends Thursday from 4-9 P.M. At the funeral home.
