Obituary of Madison Ostertag

Madison Miller Ostertag, 19, Monteagle TN, died early Saturday morning, November. 25, 2016 from injuries sustained in a one vehicle accident in Gruetli Laager TN. Madison was born Nov. 14, 1997, in Dupage County, Illinois. She was taking a year off of school to decide her future. Recently, she made a decision to pursue a career as a flight attendant in order to realize her dream for travel to places near and far. Madison loved going to the beach, hiking, reading, music and embracing new experiences. She loved animals of all kinds, especially her cats. Pocahontas was her favorite Disney princess. Her signature color was a special shade of pink. Madison is survived by her mother, Iva Michelle Russell (Eric), Monteagle TN; her father, Michael Ostertag, Oswego, IL; sister Taylor Ostertag, Oswego IL; maternal grandfather, Ted Smith, Clarkrange TN; paternal grandmother, Renate Seddon (Popi), Aurora IL; Godmother Nell Parham, Winchester TN, several aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous extended family, lifelong friends Olivia Kispert and Jacqui Pope and special friend JT Phillips, plus too many to mention friends who loved her precious effervescent soul. She is preceded in death by grandparents, Ruby Lea Smith and George Ostertag. Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, November 30, at the Cumberland Funeral Home, Monteagle. Visitation will start at 10am. Friends and family will meet afterwards at Tom's Place in Monteagle.
