Obituary of "Granny" Fultz

Granny Hester Mae Fultz age 91 passed into the presence of the Lord Wednesday morning with all of her loved ones by her side. She was a daughter of the late Newt Meeks and Flora McWain Meeks and was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond "Cotton" Fultz; sister, Faye Campbell; brothers, Dan, Dock, Gordon and Ray Meeks. Granny was well known on the mountain as the "Cake Lady" she baked cakes and other sweets for a number of years for the enjoyment of many, many people. Survivors include her children, Sivilia (Littleton) Brown, Lucretia Sanders both of Tracy City, Jerry (Carlene) Fultz of Monteagle, Annette Nunley of Monteagle and Buck (Debbie) Fultz of Rock Spring, GA; sister, Josephine (Elmer) Green of Tracy City; 11 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Ralph Shrum and Elder Franklin Hill officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Cemetery.
