Obituary of Arnold Kirkendoll

Mr. Arnold Lee Kirkendoll age 78 of Monteagle passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2011, in Emerald-Hodgson Hospital in Sewanee. He was retired from Crane Company and was preceded in death by a special grandson, Paul "Blu" Kirkendoll; his parents Luther Kirkendoll and Lavada Sapp Kirkendoll; seven brothers and sisters. Mr. Kirkendoll was a member of Myers Hill First Congregational Methodist Church and was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran. Survivors include his wife, Ernestine Kirkendoll, Monteagle; A loving son, Paul and his wife, Dawanda Kirkendoll of Whitwell; sister and brother-in-law, Marjorie and Ralph Sartin of Whitwell; 7 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Freddie Savage officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends Wednesday 3-9 P.M. at the funeral home. The family asks that memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
