Obituary of James "Jimmy" Layne

Mr. James David "Jimmy" Layne age 77 of Monteagle passed away Monday, July 4, 2011, in Vanderbilt Medical Center. Jimmy had operated the Monteagle Shell Station and Layne's Wrecker Service in Monteagle for many years. He was born Jan. 3, 1934 in Winchester, Tennessee a son of the late James Clinton Layne and Violet Ruby Rose Layne.
Survivors include his wife, Gayle Ingle Layne, Monteagle; daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Dr. Rick Courtney of Winchester; granddaughters, Candice, Lauren and Rachael Courtney.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Montgomery Cemetery in Cowan. The family will receive friends Wednesday 5-9 P.M. at the funeral home.
Arrangements are by Cumberland Funeral Home, 207 Mabee Avenue, Monteagle, Tennessee, 931-924-2381.
