Mr. James Edwin "Big Mac" McFarland, Jr. age 68 of Tracy City passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2011. He was a son of the late James Edwin McFarland,Sr. and Nina Mae Myers McFarland and was preceded in death by a sister, Clara Mae Schoenmann; wife, Janice Carol McFarland; grandson, Derrick Brown. Mr. McFarland was a member of Sewanee Lodge #405 F. & A.M. and was retired from the Tennessee Department of Transportation and T.V.A.
Survivors include his children, Kimberly "Kim" Ackerman and her husband, Mike of Key Largo, FL, Barry Alan McFarland and his wife, Gloria, Tommy Edwin McFarland and his wife, Mary Ann, Michael Todd McFarland all of Tracy City; sisters, Edwene Clay of Pelham and Diane Richards of Tracy City; 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Ben Curtis officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday 5-9 P.M. with a masonic service at 7:00 P.M.
Arrangements are by Foster & Lay Funeral Home of Tracy City.
