Mrs. Dorothy Jewell Irvin age 87 of Chattanooga passed away Friday, December 11, 2015, at Summit View. She was a former resident of Beersheba Springs, born October 15, 1928 in Tarlton Valley, a daughter of the late Herman N. Hobbs and Carlena Rubley Hobbs and was preceded in death by her husband, Freeman S. Irvin; sisters, Wilsie Tate and Sara Walker; brothers, James G. Hobbs, infant brother, Charles She is survived by her son, Dan Irvin, Ft. Oglethorpe, GA; grandson, Casey Irvin; granddaughter, Christina (Jason) Thomson; great-grandson, Anson Thomson; sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Joe Knowles of Chattanooga; mother of Christina, Tina Howard; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Central Time Sunday in the funeral home chapel with Minister Clayton Jones officiating. Burial will be in Coalmont Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 10:00 A.M. until time of services. On line condolences may be made at:www.fosterlayfuneralhome.net.
