Obituary of Fred Parks

Mr. Fred B. (Pink) Parks, age 86, 0f Monteagle, TN, passed from this earth to Heaven on September 5, 2015. He was born on May 19, 1929 in Chattanooga, TN. He grew up in Pelham and moved to Cleveland, Ohio at the age of 19. He lived in Ohio for 20 years before returning to Milton, TN where he lived for 42 years. Mr. Parks had a successful career as a tool & die maker and cattle farmer, he also had worked at Carrier Air Conditioning plant in Morrison, was preceded in death by his parents, Fred A. and Grace Payne Parks, two brothers, Bob Parks and Paul Parks. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Billiee F. London Parks; children, Terry (Sandra) Parks, Peggy (Jim) Alsup, Dan (Elise) Parks, Robin (Vince) Bailey; grandchildren, Jennifer Sauls, Jeremy Alsup, Katie Mullicane, Meredith Young, Alex Parks, Amanda Bailey and Andrew Bailey; great-grandchildren, Devin Sauls, McKaylynn Sauls, Taylor Alsup, Topher Cox, Leah Alsup, Harper Mullicane, and Emery Young; great-great-granddaughter, Lexie Sauls. Also surviving is his sister, Tommye Parks Dugger. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at Monteagle First Baptist Church. Dr. Daryll Smiley and Reverend Nathan Hale will officiate. Burial will be in the Parks Family Cemetery in Pelham. The family will receive friends Tuesday 5-9 P.M. at the funeral home. Before his death, Fred requested in lieu of flowers that doanations be made to Monteagle First Baptist Church, the Shriners, or Saint Jude Children's Hospital. Arrangements are by Cumberland Funeral Home, 207 Mabee Avenue, Monteagle, Tennessee.
