Jay D. Sartain, 72, of Tempe Arizona died suddenly on February 18, 2014. Born in Tracy City on July 21, 1941, he was raised in Cleveland, Ohio. He was a loving father, brother, uncle and friend who will be missed dearly.
After 25 years of service, Jay retired from Honeywell Aerospace. Jay was an accomplished artist and guitar player. He was a talented and passionate pool player who received several trophies while competing in tournaments. He remained a dedicated Cleveland Browns fan. He was preceded in death by his parents, J.D. and Myrtle (nee Nolan)Sartain; half-brothers, Leroy, James and Allen Smartt; half-sisters, Alma (Moltz), Lillian(Sanders).
Jay is survived by his daughter, Melanie, granddaughter, Jordan, sister Joanne (David Sr.) Sibert, niece, Karen and nephew, David, Jr. (Larissa)Sibert as well as extended family. Jay's cremains will be buried beside his parents in Plainview Cemetery on Friday, August 21, 2015, in his native Tracy City, Tennessee.
Local arrangements were with Foster & Lay Funeral Home of Tracy City, Tennessee.
