Obituary of Sr. Smartt

Mr. James Franklin Smartt, Sr. age 85 of Monteagle passed away at his home Saturday evening. James was born in Tracy City on July 8, 1930, a son of the late Lawrence Smartt and Barbara Meeks Smartt and was preceded in death by his sisters, Lawrence Marie and Georgia Marie Hobbs. He was a retired coalminer. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Tula Smartt; children, James Franklin Smartt, Jr. and his wife, Tammy, Greg Smartt and his wife Dawn, Missy Smartt Randolph and her husband, Danny; grandchildren, Holly McBee (John), Melissa Smartt, Daniel Randolph, Megan Jacobs (Dennis), Jamie Randolph Vaughn (Justin), Laura Williams, (Michael) and Tanner Smartt; his loving cat, Fannie Mae. Our family would like to give a special thanks to nurse Holly Langely. We would like to thank everyone for food, flowers, acts of kindness and prayers. Funeral services will be 7:00 P.M. Monday in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Daryll Smiley officiating. The family will receive friends Monday 5-7 P.M.
