Mr. Delbert Lamar Ladd of Coalmont and a former resident of Sewanee passed away Saturday, May 9, 2015, at his home. He was born on June 6, 1953 in Sewanee, a son of the late John W. Ladd and Jessie Caldwell Collins. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert "Bobby" Parson; sister, Glenda Ladd Ferguson; wife, Patricia Rector Ladd; grandson, Hunter Ladd. Delbert is survived by his fiancée, life time partner and care giver, Bridgitt B. Scott; son, Delbert Dee Ladd, Tracy City; brothers, John David Ladd, Monteagle and Jackie Ladd, Sewanee; 2 grandsons, 3 step-children, 11 step-grandchildren; special friend,Ron Worley and a special cousin, Sherrie D Meeks and her husband, Edward Meeks. Delbert was a genealogist, artist and musician. He loved nature, the out doors and people. He was always looking out for others before himself, he care for and helped out a good friend, Ricky Meeks who preceded him in death. Delbert was a special friend to so many, with a big heart and misunderstood by some, he leaves this life hoping he hasn't hurt anyone. He can leave knowing he helped many in every way he could. Delbert had planned his final arrangements here on this earth and it was his wish to be cremated and his ashes buried at Burns Cemetery in Sequatchie. A private ceremony celebrating Delbert's life will be held in the near future. Cremation services were provided by Cumberland Funeral Home of Monteagle, Tennessee.
