Obituary of Fred Shrum

Mr. Fred Lee Shrum age 89 of Tracy City, Tennessee passed from this life on Monday evening, May 4, 2015, at Erlanger Medical Center. He was a retired coalminer and farmer. Born in Tracy City a son of the late Sherman Andrew Shrum and Edna Way Shrum, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Shrum; son, Freddie Shrum; daughter, Ruth Sanders, brothers, Andrew, Jess, Joe, Buford and Jimmy Shrum; sister, Rena Jane King; grandchildren, John David Dove, Jr. and Lori Ann Shrum; great-grandchild, Jimmy Shrum; great-great-grandchild, Audrey Grace Williams. Mr. Shrum attended Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ. Survivors include his children, Anthony (Rita K.) Shrum, Belvedere, TN, David W. (Sheila) Shrum, Sequatchie, TN, Marvin (Fay) Shrum, Tracy City, Donnie Higgins ( Late Dan Higgins), Tracy City, Saddie Brancefield, Green Bay, WI, Mavis L. (John) Dove, Tracy City; son-in-law, Weldon Sanders, Tracy City; sister, Mary E. Anderson, FL., 22 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday in the funeral home chapel with Elder Franklin Hill officiating. Burial will be in the Shrum Family Cemetery. Family will receive friends, Thursday, 2 - 9 at the funeral home.
