Obituary of Josephine Sargent

Mrs. Josephine Meeks Sargent, age 79, passed away at her home in Decherd Friday morning, March 20, 2015, with her family by her bedside. She was a former resident of Sewanee for many years and was born in Tracy City on April 1, 1935, a daughter of the late William "Bill" Meeks.Bonnie Mae Campbell Meeks and was preceded in death by her husband, George M. Sargent, Jr.; son, William Don Nunley; brothers, Billy L. Meeks and Bobby Gene Meeks. She was a member of Harrison Chapel Congregational Methodist Church, she loved going to church and singing. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Pam and John Peck; daughter-in-law, Freda Nunley; sisters, Bonnie Campbell, Judy (James) Barry, Brenda (Jerry) Tate; nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M. Sunday in the funeral home chapel with Brother L Z Johnson and Brother Robert Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Eastern Star Cemetery in Sewanee.
