Mrs. Dorothy Rollins Layne age 77 of Monteagle passed away Wednesday night at her home with her family by her bedside. She was born in Monteagle, a daughter of the late Robert J. Rollins and Lee Vester Thomas Rollins and was preceded in death by her husband, John Layne; sisters, Mary Sitz, Pauline Risley; brothers, Paul Rollins, Edward Bud Rollins and Ernest Dale Rollins.
Survivors include her children, Virginia (Jerome) Blalock, Kelly (Rhonda) Layne, Monteagle; grandchildren, John, Brenda, Amanda, Jeremy and William; 7 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews; sister, Katherine Williams Knott, Tracy City.
Graveside services will be 3:00 P.M. Thursday in Summerfield Cemetery with Minister R.B. Slatton officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday from 1:00 P.M. until 2:45 P.M. at the funeral home. On line condolences may be made at www.cumberlandfuneralhome.net.
