Mrs. Bessie Cecelia Jacobs Glunt age 85 of Sumter, South Carolina passed away Sunday, April 24, 2011, in NHC in Sumter. She was born in Sewanee, Tennessee August 23, 1925 a daughter of the late Sam and Ollie Jacobs. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Glunt; brothers, William, Frank, John and Clyde Jacobs; sisters, Pauline Boyd, Jessie Jacobs, Sally Green and Corine Keith.
Survivors include her children, Patsy Jo (Gerald) Brown, Homosassa, FL, Cheryl L. (Michael) Hodge, Sumter, SC, Brenda Chavis, Auburn, GA; grandson, Dustin P. Hodge; granddaughter, Katie L. Chavis; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Thursday in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Harrison Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday 5-8 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to: Alzheimer's Association-Highland Rim Chapter, 201 West Lincoln Street, Tullahoma, Tennessee 37388. Arrangements are by Cumberland Funeral Home, Monteagle, Tennesse.
