Obituary of Malcolm Campbell

Mr. Malcolm Kenneth "Dickie" Campbell age 74 of Sewanee passed away Saturday, June 21, 2014, at his home. He was a son of the late Melvin Campbell and Hazel Kilgore Campbell and was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Yokley "Babe" Campbell. Dickie was retired from the University of The South; he had worked as a police officer and supervisor in grounds and maintenance. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman, and was truly and man who dearly loved his family, friends and his country. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Survivors include his daughters, Donna Campbell Nunley and her husband, Kenny of Kingston Springs, TN and Tammy Campbell Green and her husband, Danny of Pegram, TN; sisters, Renaye Smith, Nashville, Dean Burrows, Tracy City, Ophelia Hicks, Chattanooga, Joan Johnson, Murfreesboro and Delores Layne, Monteagle; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Ron Goodman officiating. Burial will be in Eastern Star Cemetery with full military honors provided by the Sequatchie Valley Honor Guard. Visitation with family and friends will be Tuesday from 5 to 9 P.M. at the funeral home. On line condolences may be made at: www.cumberlandfuneralhome.net.
