Obituary of Henry Dyer

Mr. Henry J. "Buck" Dyer, Jr. age 77 of Winchester and formerly of Monteagle, went to his Heavenly Home Friday morning with his family by his bed side. Buck was born in Monteagle, on the Marion County Side of the railroad tracks, May 13, 1936, a son of the late Henry Dyer and Lillian Johnson Dyer, he was preceded in death by his brothers, J.C., Raymond Dyer and two infant brothers; sister, Martha Johnson. Mr. Dyer was a retired truck driver and coalminer and was a member of Oaklawn Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon; he loved to share his testimony with everyone he met. Survivors in clued his wife, Barbara A Dyer; daughters, Deborah Dyer, McMinnville, Linda Dyer, Winchester and Anita (Doyle) Searcy, Tullahoma; sister, Elizabeth Hill, Keith Springs Mountain; grandchildren, Christy, Travis, Kellie, Corey and Tiffany, 9 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 4:00 P.M. Sunday in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Ray Gardner officiating. Burial will be in Summerfield Cemetery with the Deacons of Oaklawn Baptist Church serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends Saturday 5-9 P.M. at the funeral home.
