Mr. Perry Shelton Hatfield age 66 of Coalmont, Tennessee passed away Thursday, February 13, 2014, in Alvin York V.A. Medical Center in Murfreesboro. He was a native of Fentress County, TN a son of the late Curt and Ida Hatfield and was preceded in death by his sisters, Floy Hatfield, Hazel Lawson, Alva Jean Flowers; brothers, Jerry and Joe Hatfield; son, Bradley Geary; grandson, Charles Geary. Perry was retired from the textile industry and was a Viet Nam, U.S. Army veteran and was a member of Black Horse 11th Armored Calvary, Troop L and a member of the V.F.W. Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Emily Hatfield; sons, Barton Hatfield, Gainesville, FL, Perry Martin Hatfield, Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Michael Hatfield, St. Louis, MO, James B. Hatfield, San Diego, CA; Randy Geary, Nashville, Ralph Geary, McMinnville and Kevin Geary of Coalmont; sisters, Oma Jean Rogers, Dayton, Ohio and Betty Grogg, Rydal, GA; brother, Manson Hatfield, Pall Mall, TN; 12 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Thursday, February 27,in the Foster & Lay Chapel with Reverend Mike Rigsby officiating. Military honors will be provided by Sequatchie Valley Veteran's Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Fisher House located at the campus of the Alvin C. York V.A. Medical Center in Murfreesboro, TN. The Fisher House offer shelter and support during a medical crisis for members of the Armed Forces, retirees, veterans and their families. The address is: Fisher House, P.O. Box 774, Brentwood, TN 37024-0774. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the memorial service.
