Obituary of Martha Lappin

Mrs. Martha Sue Lappin age 76 of the Jump Off community near Sewanee passed away at Emerald-Hodgson Hospital in Sewanee Thursday evening, February 6, 2014. She was a daughter of the late, Thomas Green and Gladys Mooney Green and was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Lappin; grandson, Gary Wayne Vandiver; brothers, John, Jack, and Richard Green; sister, Floye Caldwell.
Mrs. Lappin is survived by her children, Reta Smith, Lynn Green, Debra Brown (Yancey Bowen), Rodger Lappin all of Sewanee, Diane Clay of Starke, FL; brothers, Pete and Jim Green both of Sewanee; sister, Frances Lappin of Sewanee; 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Sunday in the funeral home chapel with Minister Kenny Green officiating. Burial will be in Tate Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday 5-8 P.M. and Sunday 11:00 A.M. - 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home. On line condolences may be made at www.cumberland funeralhome.net.
