Obituary of Josephine Meeks

Mrs. Josephine Meeks age 69 of Monteagle passed away Friday, January 17, 2014, at her home. She was a daughter of the late, Reverend Joe V. Meeks and Cora Elizabeth Layne Meeks and was preceded in death by her husband, James Malcolm Meeks; son, James Ricky Meeks, Sr.; great-granddaughter, Jacey Dixon; brothers, Oscar Franklin, Walter and Gilman Meeks; sisters, Virginia Nunley, Clara Ruth Byers and Hazel Dykes. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Stephen L. (Steve) and Pattie Meeks of Monteagle; sisters, Anna Lou Dixon and Elizabeth Caldwell both of Tracy City; grandchildren, Stephanie (Eddie) Dixon, Stephen (Brittany), James Ricky (Courtney); great-grandchildren, Jacob, Alia, Brilee and Ariana; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday at Pryor Ridge Church with Reverend Bobby Winton officiating. Burial will be in Pryor Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home and Sunday 10:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. at Pryor Ridge Church.
