Obituary of Frances Small

Frances Austin Small, age 102, of Monteagle passed away on December 17, 2013 at Sheltering Arms in Palmer. She was a retired emelentary school teacher and principal in the Lincoln County School System. She was a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University and a member of Morton Memorial United Methodist Church. Mrs. Small was preceded in death by her husband, Urban Shofner Small, Jr., her twin sister, Mary Austin, 2 additional sisters and three brothers. She is survived by her daughter, Ann Small (Dr. Kenneth) Malhoit of Monteagle, granddaughter, Shawn Elizabeth Malhoit of Dickson, Tennessee, grandson, Brian Robert (Jennifer) Malhoit and great grandson, Lucas Malhoit of Spring Hill, one sister, Jean Planutis of Montgomery, Alabama, and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held Saturday, January 4th at 2 p.m. at the Mulberry Cemetery, Mulberry, Tennessee. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Morton Memorial United Methodist Church, 322 West Main Street, Monteagle, Tennessee.
