Obituary of Charles Scott Sr.

Mr. Charles F. Scott age 91 of Monteagle, Tennessee passed away November 22, 2013 at Southern Tennessee Medical Center in Winchester, Tennessee. He was born in Ozark, Missouri January 24, 1922 to Charles M. and Ora Scott. He served as a medic with the 102nd Infantry division in WWII in France and Germany receiving the Purple Heart. He and his wife Ann (Barnes) graduated from Lipscomb University in 1949. Charles has spent the last 70 years preaching the gospel for the Church of Christ. He has spent much time in missionary work helping to start hundreds of churches in India, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Pakistan. He served in a local ministries at Martinsville, VA, Old Hickory, TN, Scranton, PA, and Olney, MD. He moved to Monteagle, TN in 1976 continuing his overseas ministries and holding gospel meetings throughout many parts of the USA. He is survived by his wife of 65 years Margaret Ann Barnes Scott, children Charles Scott, Jr (Scotty) and his wife Terri, Beth Schrader from Belgrade, MT, and Lowell B. Scott and his wife Daphne of Murfreesboro, TN, 9 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday, November 25, 2013 in the chapel of Cumberland Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Monteagle Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday 2-4:30 P.M. at the funeral home.
