Obituary of Samuel Sargent

Mr. Samuel Edward Sargent, age 90 of Monteagle, Tennessee slipped into the arms of his Savior on the early morning hours of November 18, 2013, surrounded by his family. He was a beloved father, grandfather,great grandfather and great-great grandfather, Barber and Farmer. His life left a legacy of love and service to all who knew him. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Sargent and parents, Samuel Aaron and Olive Sargent, grandson, Travis Partin. He is survived by his sons, Sam A. Sargent, Portland, Or., Dan (JoAnn) Sargent, Monteagle, TN; Ben (Kim) Sargent, Monteagle, TN; Daughters, Sheila Flynn (caregiver), Monteagle, TN., Myra (Sam) Merckle, Cowan, TN; Sibyl Partin, Morrison, TN; Rebecca (Tim) Taylor, Grifton, NC.; one brother, Joe Sargent, Monteagle, TN; 23 grandchildren, 51 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 20, 2013 in the Cumberland Funeral Home Chapel officiated by his son, Dan Sargent. Burial will follow in the Lappin Family cemetery in Monteagle, Tennessee with full military honors provided by Sequatchie Valley Honor Guard. The family will receive friends, 5-9 P.M.
