Obituary of Edward Tucker

Mr. Edward E. Tucker age 87 of Sewanee passed away Saturday, July 13, 2013, in Emerald-Hodgson Skilled Care in Sewanee. He was a native of Sewanee, a son of the late Samuel Tucker and Nellie Mooney Tucker and was preceded in death by a son, Edward Lee "Buddy" Tucker. Mr. Tucker retired from The University of the South and was a member of Sewanee Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his wife, Sally Ann Gipson Tucker; daughter, Annie Mae Kaliher of Toledo, Oregon; sister-in-law, Geraldine Walker of Decherd; brother-in-law, Tommy Gipson of Cowan; grandchildren, Vicki Lynn, Lisa and Lori; 5 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M. Monday in the funeral home chapel with Minister Harry Green officiating. Burial will be in Eastern Star Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Billy Terrill, Wayne Walker, Tommy Gipson, Geno Schlichting, Ronald Terrill and James Ed Collins. The family will receive friends Monday from 2:00 P.M. until the time of services.
