Mr. Percy Glenn King age 88 of Monteagle passed away Monday morning, June 24, 2013, in Erlanger Medical Center. He was a native of Stone Mountain, Georgia, a son of the late Charles A. King and Mary Myrtle Huie King.
Glenn was a graduate of Georgia Tech, a WW II U.S. Army Air Corps veteran where he served as a radio operator on B 29's in the 20th Air Force on Saipan. He was an electrical engineer and retired from A.E.D.C. He devoted many years to serving the Republican Party and as Grundy County Election Chairman. Glenn was preceded in death by his wife, Betty in September of 2012.
Survivors include his daughters, Kim King Stout and her husband, Allen of Franklin, TN and Glenda King Beals and her husband, Charles of Mt. Juliet; two grandchildren, Glenn Stout and Lillian Stout; a great-grandson, Pierce Stout.
A memorial service to celebrate Glenn's life will be 2:00 P.M. Friday in the chapel of Cumberland Funeral Home with Bishop William Millsaps officiating. Interment of ashes will be Monday, July 1 at 1:00 P.M. in the Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery in Nashville. Memorials may be made to Christ Church Monteagle.
