James Gregory "Red" Meeks age 47 of the Clouse Hill community near Tracy City passed away Sunday, June 16, 2013, in Baptist Hospital in Nashville. He was preceded in death by his father, James David Meeks. He was a grandson of Jack and Cleo Meeks, Tommie and Ruby Parson. A NASCAR fan,his favorite driver was Jimmy Johnson and the 48 team. He also was an avid CB Radio bug and was known by his CB buddies as "Jazzy"
Survivors include his mother, Ruth Meeks, Tracy City; sister and her husband, Susan and Larry Meeks; nieces, Samantha, Ashley and Haley Meeks; nephews, Jonathan and Dakota Meeks all of Tracy City; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be 4:00 P.M. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with Minister Mathew Meeks officiating. Burial will be in Clouse Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday 2-9 P.M. at the funeral home. On line condolences may be made at www.fosterlayfuneralhome.net.
