Obituary of Richard Fisher Jr.

Richard L. Fisher, Jr., Col. retired USMC age 82 of Tracy City, Tennessee passed away at his home, June 12, 2013. Mr. Fisher was a Korean War veteran, recently invited to return for a two week visit to South Korea in 2010 to be honored by the Korean government. He received the National Defense Medal, Purple Heart, United Nations, and the Korean with 3 stars. Upon returning to the states, Mr. Fisher completed an engineering degree from Alabama Polytechnical Institute (Auburn University - WAR EAGLE!!) Mr. Fisher is retired from Combustion Engineering and Vetco International, where he was Vice-President for World Wide Manufacturing and Nuclear Research. Mr. Fisher was preceded in death by his Parents Richard Leroy Fisher Sr. and DeVera Bauldauf Fisher, two sons Robert Paul Fisher, and Phillip Benedict Fisher, and his brother John Dwyer Fisher. Mr. Fisher is survived by his wife of 61 years, Dorothy Amy Edwards Fisher, daughters Patricia Fisher, Peggy Helton, Pamala Joyce Elliott (Bill), son Peter Karl Fisher (Sue), grandchildren Stacey, Steven, and Stewart Helton, A.J. and Amy Cragar, Sudie and Laura Fisher, friends and neighbors Parrish and Beth Cragar. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. E.S.T. Monday, June 17, 2013 at Chattanooga National Cemetery 1200 Bailey Avenue Chattanooga, TN 37404. Bishop William Millsaps will officiate. The family will receive friends 2:00 - 5:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home. Arrangements are by Foster & Lay Funeral Home of Tracy City.
